Great question, we get this question a few times a year! The simple answer is no, we are not licensed to provide boarding to the public. And honestly, from a Bio-Security perspective we do not believe that would be a good option as dogs coming onto the ranch can carry in viruses that might not be affecting them, but could affect the dogs in our program (especially our young puppies). We therefore consider our ranch to be a "closed" facility, this should provide you a measure of comfort knowing that your new pup has not potentially been exposed to an illness just prior to you receiving them.
Another great question, we get this question a lot in the summer or near the Holidays when folks are juggling vacation schedules and adoption pickups!
Once we notify you that your puppy is ready to go home you should arrange to pick up your puppy or to have them transported within a week or so (unless other arrangements have been made ahead of time).
Of course, we do "hold on to your pup for you" while you arrange your schedule for short periods of time (a week or so) without any charge...however, for those occasions where there is a more extended wait needed for a new family to be able to arrange their schedule to accommodate their new pup (which very rarely happens) we charge a $15.00 per day fee that begins to accrue the day they were ready to go home, to reimburse us for our own continued costs in providing care for your new pup, this additional fee is due prior to your pup leaving our ranch.
Please keep in mind, this is ONLY for pups that have never left our ranch to go to their new home and are simply experiencing an unexpectedly long delay in waiting to meet their new family.
* Additionally, please be aware that we typically require that a pup be paid for in full in order for us to "hold on to them for you" for any extensive period of time.
