About our pricing

THE REAL QUESTION OF COST...

Some folks wonder just why some breeders puppies cost several thousand dollars, and other breeders puppies are far less expensive.  There is an old saying that goes "you get what you pay for".  To the right is an itemized list of expenses involved in the ethical dog breeding of Dalmatians.  As you will see, sometimes a breeder makes a decent profit on a litter, sometimes they lose money.

The REAL QUESTION is for those pups that you find out there with other breeders that are far less expensive....just what are those breeders choosing to NOT do on that list in order to offer pups for such a low price?  After all, they probably aren't paying out of their own pocket just to produce a puppy just so that you are happy.  So what is being sacrificed, the quality of the food?  Vet care?  Health testing?  Not paying taxes? And what will that cost their puppies?  Health?  Longevity?  And how will that affect you?

You can see on this list that if all goes well which means:
1) You have 8 puppies to divide the litter expenses between,

2) All the puppies are all healthy with no added vet expenses

3) All find homes at the anticipated adoption price of $2000

4) Mom did well and is healthy with no added Emergency Vet Expenses

Then for a litter of 8 pups that took between 4-5 months of caring for mom and pups (including sleepless nights during whelping time) that a breeder can reasonably be expected to be ahead (or make a profit) of between $4000-$6000 for those 4-5 months of work (2-3 months of which were pretty intensive).

A litter of pups well raised returns less than many minimum wage jobs.

This list demonstrates the reasons for the adoption price of my pups.

What demonstrates the reasons for some other breeders low priced pups?

What do some of those other breeders do to afford their LOW COST pups...and is that what you really want?
