Dalmatians are a wonderful breed full of intelligence and energy but they are not a breed appropriate for every family. Each of our puppies are placed in the most appropriate home based on their individual personalities and the information and preferences we gather from you in the 6-Step Application Process outlined below.
Our puppies are really cute and generate lots of interest from prospective families. Given that our goal is to place our puppies in forever homes, we feel it necessary to conduct a thorough interview with each potential home; this is very time consuming...as it should be...we are talking about adding a furry family member to your household that will live with you for over a decade. Such decisions should not be made without thought and consideration.
Start with Step 1 below and make sure a Dalmatian Puppy is right for you!
Please watch this short video introduction to the Dalmatian Breed!
There are many other video's on youtube about Dalmatians as well...we feel the one above is the most comprehensive video to tell you both the "good and the bad" of owning a Dalmatian.
ALWAYS wait to select a puppy until you know what you are adding to your family!
Once you think a Dalmatian is right for you please proceed to Step 2!
Are you looking for an independent pup that can be left on its own for multiple hours during the day while you are at work, or a velcro dog that really is attached at your hip?
Do you need your pup to be outgoing and like strangers and new places? Or is a dog with a more protective behavior more what you are looking for?
Do you have small children, or pets in the household already that need to be accommodated in a puppies personality?
Are you hoping for a black spotted or liver spotted puppy?
Is LUA or HUA status important to you? For more information on this topic click HERE to go to an outside information source.
..and more...
When adding a puppy to your household we recommend being picky and waiting for the right pup...don't just fall in love with a picture! Personality is KEY!
Once you have the traits in mind go ahead and proceed to Step 3!
Read the sample agreement and make sure you understand many of the policies that will be included in the Puppy Adoption Agreement.
Please Note...
Yes, we do occasionally allow breeding rights for some of our pups to pre-approved breeders. View our Breeding Addendum that is included with all our Puppy Agreements that have any type of breeding rights for more details. Breeding of our pups is NOT allowed outside of this agreement.
Once you understand our Rules and Practices you can proceed to Step 4.
AFTER you have completed Steps 1-3 then Please Click the picture above to schedule a 1-hour interview.
To determine puppy compatibility we also want to talk with you to answer your questions and make sure we know what is important to you in your next furry family member and if you are approved we can help you pick the best puppy for your family.
This is when we discuss personality traits you are looking for, health traits such as LUA, physical traits such as size, color (Black spots vs Liver) pricing and more so that you can complete the Puppy Description and Deposit Agreement in the next step.
For folks looking to adopt a SPECIFIC puppy currently available for adoption this is the time a specific puppy is selected!
Once the interview is complete and you are approved to Adopt one of our Puppies...it's time to go to Step 5.
Your next step is to Request a Puppy and to do that you complete the Puppy Description and Deposit Agreement found HERE!
The Deposit is made at this time and is necessary to HOLD a puppy for you until the puppy is ready to be picked up or a meet-up is set.
Our preference is to accept Zelle which charges no service fees (available via most major banks online banking or by Ap with a debit card) and for the convenience of folks using smaller banks we also accept Western Union & Moneygram through Walmart's online money transfers which charges the sender a very nominal fee and uses a debit or credit card.
(Please note we no longer accept PayPal due in large part to their increasingly high service fees of over 3% that they now charge businesses).
Once we have the puppy you requested, and described, in Step 5 available and the puppy is READY for you to pickup we will notify you and send your Puppy Adoption Agreement that you reviewed in Step 3 for you to sign and return via Email...and we begin Step 6.
While you are waiting to hear from us is a great time for you to "BONE UP" on adding a new SPOT to your household by reviewing our GUIDE for a NEW SPOT!
Once we have the puppy you described in Step 5 available for you we will notify you!
Then we work with you on setting a date for Picking up your puppy! There are several options available.
You are invited to meet us at our Veterinarian's Office in town as they perform your puppies "Well-Puppy Exam" on the day they go home with you. This clinic is state-of-the-art and has ample parking areas, outdoor green spaces, indoor seating, and restrooms. Further, you would have a chance to see and even meet the staff that routinely cares for my dogs/pups. :-)
We also sometimes can drive a few hours to meet folks part way within Texas or neighboring states (there is a fee for this to help cover expenses such as gas).
We do also meet folks at DFW Airport to bring them their pups. There is usually a small flat fee that helps cover our expenses for this option - though even with the cost of airfare this option is typically far less expensive than typical ground transport fees these days - (most folks can accomplish Round-Trip airfare to DFW and our small travel fee for less than $500).
We also have what we consider a "SAFE RIDE" ground transport option that is typically nationwide. The cost is about 50 cents a mile from Tyler, Texas to your town. If you are interested in this option please ask for more information.
